Explain, please.

I keep hoping that the world, in its wisdom, will eventually realize how much better off they might be with me as Emperor.
I would, of course, be open to suggestions and compromise, be totally benevolent, fair and wise.

It should be noted that these things aren't just quirks or biased opinions. They are absolute truths (admittedly not obvious to everyone). Just trust me on this.

The Debate Ends. Under is the Answer

This is one of those topics that can generate debate and where both sides have reasonable-seeming arguments.  One might think it is an area where personal choice should be permitted.  One would be wrong.

This is, in fact, one of many areas where the issue isn't really about who is right.  The issue is how life will be easier if it's always done the same way.

Greater efficiency, lower frustration, less wasted time (like what I'm doing right now), reduced un-rolling incidents, etc.

The site with the most elaborate argument and the best graphics is here.  Unfortunately they are wrong.

Despite their efforts they came out in favour of "over" (option B in the above illustration).  They put a lot of stock in the claim that more mass-un-rolling incidents will occur with a one-hand tear-attempt from under, vs. over.  Wrong.  It's really just what you are used to and practice.  If you are going to hot-dog it with a one-hand-tear, make sure you have the skills.  Again, mandating a single direction means the one-hand-showoffs only have to master one variation of the method.

The above-noted site also blatantly ignored the additional resistance offered by the roll-assembly itself during an upward tear.

In addition, as some wise commenters noted, cats and puppies have different objectives and skillsets when it comes to tp-rolls. It is unarguable that what we consider an unfortunate mass-unrolling incident is considered success by pets.  To accomplish this requires the more difficult upward swipe or the blind-lucky-hook-a-claw move.

As emperor-in-waiting, I realize I am taking far too much time to explain to the citizenry the logic of my wise and benificent decisions.

UNDER is the answer and shall be the law
